Intruder Alarms

Residential Intruder Alarms

Losing possessions together with those of sentimental value can be heartbreaking

Possessions together with those of sentimental value can be heartbreaking. Replacing items can be achieved but it’s the emotional and physical aspects that can often have the greater impact. With such an increasing threat, more and more homeowners are now investing in an Intruder alarm system.

With security being such an important issue it’s essential that you carefully select the correct system. At MSS, we will work with you to choose a solution that is individually designed around your requirements. A system that is fully compliant with the expectations of your insurers, budget and most importantly, your security needs.

We can provide you with the peace of mind that comes with knowing you will be protected by the very best in alarm technology. A solution that will be properly specified, installed and maintained.

Wired Vs Wireless

Using the latest technological advances, our systems are either wired or wireless.

A wired alarm system connects the sensors (e.g. PIR detector, door contacts) to the control panel via a network of wires (concealed within the walls and floors of your home) and then to the outside world (if required) using your home’s telephone line or a mobile phone network.

Our graded wireless systems are installed utilising the most advanced wireless technology. Such systems can use a multitude of sensors (throughout the home) than can then communicate wirelessly to the central control panel. Such a system involves a straightforward installation process and can be also applied in difficult settings such as hardwood or tiled floors.

Types Of Intruder Alarm

At MSS, we have designed three systems specifically for the residential homeowner. Each system will be simple to use whilst inspiring confidence that your property, family and possessions are securely protected.

Bells Only

Our bells only systems rely on high volume sounder usually located on an elevation of your property. This activates when an internal detection device is triggered. However, this type of alarm does not alert the police of the intrusion but, it will notify yourself, your neighbours or even a passer-by.

Speech Dialer

These systems incorporate an additional device being connected to an alarm. When triggered, the system immediately notifies all nominated parties with a pre-recorded message to let them know of the activation.

MSS ‘monitored’ systems are connected via a telephone line and/or mobile network to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). The system is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by the centre. If the alarm is activated, the monitoring/receiving centre will instantly contact the keyholders or the Police (depending on your monitoring package). For further information please see our ‘24Hour Remote Monitoring’ section.

Additional Protection

Can be customised with indoor/outdoor intrusion detectors (door/window contact, glass break) and safety sensors that detect smoke, gas, CO and floods.

Further Protection

Can be connected to a wide range of personal emergency transmitters i.e. panic alarms that enable response during emergencies.

Many residential homeowners that have an Intruder alarm system installed may find that over time their system has become dated and unreliable and do not incorporate the latest technology and in some cases have not been maintained properly. In essence, they do not meet the user’s current security needs and this only becomes evident when there is an incident.

Hence, It may be time to consider upgrading your intruder alarm system before such an event. This would involve having it re-surveyed by MSS to see if it meets your current security requirements. Having had the re-survey you may realise that you need a new wireless Intruder alarm system. On the other hand, you may find out that you only require additional sensors whilst the security panel is actually still suitable. Whatever the outcome, it’s important you re-assess your current system before its too late.
